GREETINGS

This site introduces you to the unusually diverse writings of Stewart Justman. Most are listed bibliographically; some are posted here. Spanning topics from disease-mongering to cultural commerce in the Middle Ages, all are informed by an undogmatic spirit and a respect for evidence. All speak directly to the reader.

Stewart Justman received the 2004 PEN Award for the Art of the Essay and taught at the University of Montana, first in the English Department, then the Liberal Studies Program, from 1975 to 2016.
